menya itto
麵屋一燈 (English name: Menya Itto) has been listed on Japan's Tabelog's top 10 list for the past few years. Even reaching number one status from time to time. If you go to Tokyo, they have long queues waiting for that precious bowl. Due to this popularity, they have branches in Taiwan and Bangkok and now ... Hong Kong.
Like any ramen fan, I had to give this a try.
Located in Tsim Sha Tsui's Harbor City in the LCX area is where it is located. It was once the location of the o

wing it!
I love chicken wings. Whenever there I go to a barbeque, I just dive in the wings. Whenever I eat out and I want a snack, wings are always what catches my eye. So when a new place called Wing It opened in Causeway Bay, I was interested. Needing an after work snack, I came here. Located in the Haven Street area of Causesway Bay, is a small yet brightly yellow restaurant. They had taken over the old Iconic H shop and thus the layout was the same except for the new color chan

阿賢麵線
I love Taiwanese food. There is something comforting about it. For it's simplicity, yet it's comforting on chilly days. It fills you up and warms you up. That, to me, is Taiwanese food. There are many places in Hong Kong that offer this food. Some are fairly decent. Some are horrendous. And some are just so expensive, I don't even know why I bothered to come. Recently, someone recommended a place that served inexpensive Taiwanese oyster noodles that were down right tasty. I w

grace dessert house
After dinner, boyfriend, his sister and I came to Grace Dessert House as it seemed cute and we're always up for dessert. There seemed to be a fare number of people who lived nearby dining there so we gave it a try.
Menu was in Chinese and partial English. There is no 10% service charge. They had pancakes and waffles along with Chinese desserts. And if you add $8, you can get a drink. Steamed Milk in Coconut ($48). Boyfriend ordered this as he always wants anything coconut

eight treasures
八寶煮意 (English name : Eight Treasures) is a restaurant that serves beef brisket. But not just any beef brisket. Their soup base has Chinese herbal medicine added especially dong quai, a herbal medicine that is supposed have health benefits for women especially during menstruation. Originally, this restaurant was in Hung Hom. But for some reason, it closed and moved to Tin Hau. Curious, boyfriend and I went to give it a try. Why was this place so special?
The place is actual

hit the road
Hit the Road is an upstairs cafe that I used to eat there on an off and on basis for the past few years. It's been here forever and I love it from it's cute decor to it's wonderful carefully created food. But then new places open up and I went to other places to eat and haven't been back for at least 5 years. So, on one crisp day, I thought to myself ... is it still around? Considering places open and close in Hong Kong at such high frequency, I wasn't sure. And if it was sti

baikohken ramen
I have a friend who thinks ramen is just overpriced instant noodles. I was horrified by this remark as I love ramen. I love the rich broth. The chewy noodles. The luscious egg. The melt in your mouth char siu. Yes, I love ramen and I'm always on the look out for new ramen restaurants that open up on Hong Kong.
A new ramen place has opened up in Tang Lung Street .... or what most like to call it "Ramen Street" as there are already five ramen restaurants in that small littl

nichi etsu japanese restaurant
日悅極尚日式放題 (English name: Nichi Etsu Japanese Restaurant) is new and it's part of the Tack Hsin restaurant chain. Yes, you heard right. The Chinese all you can eat hot pot restaurant has secretly been expanding into the Japanese all you can eat market. First they did Tokuoki Beef Shabu, an all you can eat Japanese shabu shabu. But it was still hot pot. So, they opened Tokuya Yakiniku, Japanese all you can eat grill. But now Nichi Etsu is their latest venture and it's all you c

blue elephant thai brasserie
High tea is something I love. I love it a lot. But it's so hard to find someone to go with me. I discovered that Blue Elephant Thai Brasserie offered a high tea set for two at $168 and I somehow got boyfriend to go with me. Blue Elephant Thai Brasserie is located in Harbor City, Tsim Sha Tsui. Offering modern Thai food, I was a bit surprised they had a high tea set until I read the past review. The tea set costs $168 and includes a basic coffee or tea. There are no options t

littlescoool
After much success with 小時光 (English name: Scoool), the Kwun Tong industrial factory has expanded to the Tsim Sha Tsui area with a new restaurant called 小食糖 (English name: Littlescoool).
Located in Miraplace, it's a small little corner restaurant. The decor was like a school and it seemed like the Kwun Tong restaurant named 小時光 (English name: Scoool) but not as detailed. The menu was similar as well. The menu is in Chinese only. There is no 10% service charge. What they s
